Diethyl Oxalate

Diethyl diacetate is mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry as an intermediate for drugs such as phenobarbital, azathioprine, sulfamethoxazole, sulfamethoxazole, carboxyphenyl penicillin, ampicillin, chloroquine lactate, and thiabendazole. It is also a plasticizer accelerator and a dye intermediate. Additionally, it is used as a solvent for cellulose esters and fragrances. It is also an intermediate for cypermethrin and other pharmaceutical intermediates.

Ethyl oxalate is an important organic chemical raw material and ethylating agent, capable of undergoing condensation reactions with fatty acid esters, amides, anilines, and many heterocyclic compounds. In the pharmaceutical field, it is an intermediate in the manufacture of drugs such as phenobarbital, carboxyphenyl penicillin, and thiabendazole. In organic synthesis, it can be used to manufacture plastic accelerators, textile auxiliaries, and dye-sensitized battery additives. In other applications, it can react with corrosive carbonate matrices to form a unique oxalate surface layer, preventing further corrosion of the matrix, and can directly replace oxalic acid in the wood chip paper industry or be used to extract hemicellulose from plant fibers. It can also replace highly toxic chloroacetic acid in the synthesis of ethylene malonate or be used to prepare oxalic acid and diethyl carbonate, which have important chemical applications, through hydrolysis and decarbonylation reactions.

Store separately from oxidizers, reducing agents, acids, alkalis, and food chemicals; do not mix with other substances. Equip the storage area with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The storage area should be equipped with spill response equipment and suitable containment materials.
